They recently catered the ICSN 25th Anniversary and New Yam Festival, delivering a flavourful assortment of West African snacks. The event celebrated and commemorated all the great work done by the Igbo Cultural Support Network over the last quarter-century.

Celebrating Igbo Culture & Tradition
In attendance at the event — which was held October 7th, 2023 at the Oasis Banqueting Hall — were over 100 guests, most of whom were members or supporters of the ICSN. The event also coincided with the New Yam Festival, an annual Igbo tradition marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of the new work cycle.
“Our aim is to spread awareness of the Igbo culture and give those who are of Igbo decent (Ndi-Igbo) a stronger sense of identity and community,” explained a spokesperson for the ICSN. “Events like our ICSN 25th Anniversary and New Yam Festival provide our members with the opportunity to really connect, network and support one another.”
A Flavourful Menu
Ellesu contributed a 4-dish menu of sweet and savoury grazing snacks for guests to enjoy. Dishes served included roasted yam, soft buns, and small chop pouches. The most popular dish, however, was Ellesu’s signature Puff–Puff Cups, which are small cinnamon, Oreo, and powdered sugar-flavoured pastries, served in cups with white chocolate drizzle.
Ellesu prepared all the dishes on-site using fresh ingredients from local food stores and supermarkets. Their 3-person team worked for six hours, serving dishes, monitoring the food, and restocking supplies.
“I had an incredible time at the ICSN 25th Anniversary and New Yam Festival,” said a satisfied guest. “The highlight for me was definitely Ellesu’s cinnamon-flavoured Puff-Puff Cups — they were absolutely delicious and left a lasting impression. All in all, the event was a beautiful celebration of Igbo culture and community.”
Looking Ahead
Following the success of the ICSN 25th Anniversary and New Yam Festival, Ellesu has plans to cater more events throughout London, including weddings, business conferences, and international gatherings.
